Health insurance 'can be sought online'
September 07, 2010
A price comparison site may be a good place to start for anyone looking for health insurance.
Searching for common cover such as health insurance can easily be done over the internet.
Writing for This is Money, columnist Stephen Womack explained that while people with specialist needs may have to seek out more niche insurance providers, the majority of people can find what they are looking for online.
"Shopping around for insurance by phone or on a comparison website is easy," he stated.
According to a recent study from Simplyheath, people are not just going online to compare health insurance quotes but are also seeking out specific information about their wellbeing on the internet.
The company conducted a survey which found 29 per cent of people aged between 16 and 29-years-old have gone on to the internet to search for a diagnosis for a health condition they are dealing with.
Roy Lilley, an independent health policy analyst and social commentator, said the internet is a useful tool in helping people get more informed about their physical condition.
