Walking 'can help health insurance customers burn calories'
December 29, 2010
Walking more often can be beneficial to health insurance customers.
Health insurance customers looking to get fitter after the festive period may want to take up walking.
According to Maria Castellina, a spokesperson for walking charity the Ramblers, going on foot for just one mile can lead to a person burning off around 100 calories.
She said it does not take much effort for health insurance customers and others to incorporate the form of exercise into their daily lives.
"Making simple differences to your everyday routine, like walking to work rather than taking the bus, can help you to control your weight and even save a few pennies too," Ms Castellina explained.
She noted that people who trek through cities and towns can usually rely on a decent pair of trainers, while those who start to take the hobby more seriously may wish to invest in a pair of walking boots.
The expert explained that shoes are the most important piece of equipment a keen walker will invest in.
