Bupa health insurance customers benefit from new helpline
January 31, 2012
Bupa has extended its original nurse-only telephone helpline so that individual private health insurance members can now obtain a call-back from a GP within the hour.
People with private medical insurance from Bupa can now benefit from a new helpline, designed to provide around-the-clock health advice over the telephone.
Manned by a team of GPs and nurses, the Bupa Anytime HealthLine enables members to obtain a telephone consultation at any time of the day or night.
The original helpline was staffed by nurses alone, but members can now receive a call-back from a GP within the hour.
Bupa says the service will give individual health insurance policyholders the opportunity to have a "relaxed and full conversation with a medical professional", 365 days a year.
Sue Moore, marketing and customer development director at Bupa Health & Wellbeing, said: "Many of our members want to be able to speak to a GP or to a nurse at any time of the day or night, at a time that suits them, without having to wait for an appointment.
"Bupa Anytime HealthLine is there to give our individual health insurance members this advice and reassurance whenever they need it."
Policyholders will be able to obtain advice on a wide variety of health concerns, ranging from stomach upsets and teething babies to sexual health and long-term conditions.
